Versacom's early entry into the Wind Energy space has allowed us to gather and effectively use some very valuable information.

Our Wind farms Development, Operations and Maintenance Unit includes all related activities required to launch projects of wind power generation.

  • Screening of sites in the field

  • Obtaining the permissions and licenses required for construction
  • On-going maintenance and performance tuning of turbines and blades

Versacom is committed to safety in the workplace. 100% of our crew members are/will be OSHA 10 certified before reporting for work. Many of them are also Climb and Rescue /First Aid trained.

Construction and Implementation

Versacom provides the following construction and implementation service resources:

  • Complete Life cycle construction supervision
  • Project set up, Trailer and Field Material specialization
  • Off load components, base-mid, erections, and mechanical completions for V80
  • Construction of scaffolds
  • Ship/receive, forklift operations
  • Install elevator lifts in wind turbine, install beam and decks on each floor
  • Rectify faults on turbines
  • Rotor assembly and cable drops for V47’s and GE 1.5’s
  • Calibrate blade tip on fixed blade system
  • Install wires in Turbines- installation, termination, routing HV, communication cables and splicing generator cable in junction boxes in Vestas V82 and Vestas V90 turbines
  • Install generators & slip ring
  • Set top, nacelle
  • Commission on turbines
  • Generator Alignments, ACU, HCU resets
  • LVDP Inspections

  • Assemble nacelle lid and hatches, nacelle building, nacelle punch out, rigging, hooking parts in the nacelle.
  • Lube gears, rotors. bolt inserts,. flange tensioning, top out tensioning, blade/hub tensioning
  • Install garage door, motor, light boxes and garage door switch.
  • Assemble lid components; junction box, safety rail and tape.

Maintenance and Operations

Versacom provides the following maintenance and operation service resources:

  • Field Service Engineering (FSE)
  • Inspection of inside/outside of blades for ripples and cracks. Analyze by measuring.
  • Record ripples and document the analysis.
  • Calibrate Blades and perform TCI’s
  • Set up heating and cooling units, generators and power converters
  • Material usage to Bill of Materials hands-on production analysis (~140ft. turbine blades)
  • Design and implementation of custom production tools including a single fixture that improved blade trailing edge quality by 15% which leads to a quieter and more efficient wind turbine
  • Overall production cost reduction of over $100,000 yearly through efficiency increases
  • Run temporary lighting and power inside blades.
  • Inside and outside surface repair of blades including deposition of composites, curing and final finishing of blades, including FUSION techniques

  • leading edge repairs, trailing edge repairs, major repairs etc;
  • Full annual services
  • Hub grease re-fill. CC Jenson filter change, along with the other filter change
  • Shut down
  • Work with high-torque bolts
  • Rewire turbine top boxes
  • Service gear boxes and perform 100-hour scheduled maintenance re-torque blades on V80’s

  • Yearly services and retrofit on Vestas V47 turbines
  • Removal and replacement of generators, lab seal installations
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Direct and advise Crane Crews on replacing Gearboxes and rotors
  • Provide the Safety & Health oversight
  • Perform and manage routine hazard identification
  • Conduct, document, and track HSE inspections
